Quality Management Solutions (QMS)

a comprehensive framework for managing all aspects of quality

What are the benefits of quality management integrated with ERP

Quality Management (QM) within an ERP system goes beyond basic quality control. It's a suite of tools and functionalities designed to help organizations proactively manage all aspects of quality, from product design and development to production and post-sale support.

Centralized Data and Processes

  •  Single source of truth: All quality-related data, from production records and inspection reports to non-conformance issues and corrective actions, reside within the ERP system. This eliminates information silos and ensures everyone has access to the same consistent data.
  •  Streamlined workflows: Quality processes, like inspections, approvals, and document control, are integrated with relevant production and inventory modules in the ERP. This automates tasks, eliminates manual data entry, and reduces errors.

Proactive Quality Control

  •  Built-in quality checks: Quality control points are embedded within production planning and execution phases. This allows for real-time identification and correction of deviations, preventing defects before they occur.
  •  Statistical process control (SPC): ERP systems can analyze production data using SPC tools to identify trends and predict potential quality issues. This enables proactive adjustments to processes before defects arise.

Compliance Management

  •  Standardized procedures: The ERP system enforces quality standards and procedures, ensuring consistent product and service quality across the organization. This facilitates compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications.
  •  Integrated audits: Audit management modules within the ERP schedule, track, and analyze internal and external audits, streamlining the compliance process.

Advanced Analytics and Reporting:

  •  Quality dashboards: Real-time dashboards provide insights into key quality metrics, such as defect rates, process performance, and customer satisfaction. This enables data-driven decision-making for continuous improvement.
  •  Trend analysis: Advanced analytics tools within the ERP help identify root causes of quality issues and predict future trends, enabling proactive problem-solving.

Improved Collaboration

  •  Communication tools: Integrated communication tools facilitate collaboration between various departments involved in quality, such as production, engineering, and quality control. This speeds up issue resolution and improves overall quality management effectiveness.

Navigator's Advanced Quality Management Addon

The advanced quality add-on provides the ability to record multiple parameters that have unique thresholds and workflow for the QC process by leveraging SAP Business ByDesign’s and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition core quality plans to create the inspection task for Inbound Deliveries. Once the Standard Inspection task is created an Inspection lot, advanced recording tasks, physical sample records, and operations are created with reference to a group.

For production orders, the addon will create the Inspection lots and subsequent objects with reference to the production order at the time the Production Order is released.

SAP Quality Management

Quality Management (QM) is a component of SAP S/4HANA that supports businesses in implementing and running quality control processes. It is designed to prevent defects, enable continuous process improvement, and establish sustained quality control programs. Potential benefits for the organization include compliance with manufacturing quality regulations, lower operating costs, and improved customer satisfaction.

You can use the functions of this component to implement the most important elements of a quality management system (QM system) that supports you in complying with standards such as ISO 9000.

QM integrates with other application components of the SAP system such as Materials Management, Plant Maintenance, Production Planning, Sales and Distribution, Finance, Controlling, and Human Resources. This integration enables QM tasks to be incorporated into tasks within these integrated application components.
